Trays: Day 2

1) Accurately documenting our progress is so difficult because we don't know if our progress is really progress or if it's wrong. We don't have a good way of really testing it out. Writing our ideas down can sometimes be a challenge, too.

2) Our progress demonstrates that science ideas change because our ideas have changed. Also, because with the more evidence we gathered about the trays, and the more "technology" we got to use made our ideas better.

3) Why scientists "clean up" their progress after publishing...
we think that scientists clean up their progress before publishing is to hide their wrong ideas.
We also think it is because they are trying to prove ONLY their idea, and not other things they tried. Also, to hide mistakes they might've made along the way.

Global Warming

Global warming is the increase of average temperature of the earth's air and oceans and it's predicted continuation.
It is mostly caused by greenhouse gases- gases that trap heat in our atmosphere.
Most of these are Carbon-dioxide, methane, Nitrous oxide, and Fluorinated gases.

opinion on using laptops in class

I think it would be cool to have computers in class because it gives us access to a lot of information. also, the things that aren't in textbooks like lots of pictures and visuals. i think it might be a bit distracting though.

Why the Troposphere Has Higher Pressure Than the Mesosphere

The troposphere has higher pressure than the mesosphere because it is the layer of our atmosphere that is closest to the earth. It's the lowest, and there are other layers over the troposphere. Gravity is pushing down on our atmosphere, and it's squishing all the layers down on eachother. So, just like the lower you go down in a swimming pool the more pressure is over you- the lower you are in the atmosphere more pressure is over you. The troposphere has the stratosphere, the mesosphere, and the thermosphere on top of it, being pushed down by gravity. So, compared to the mesosphere that only has the thermosphere on top of it, the troposphere has higher pressure.

Goals for my schooling

Frustrations I have about this year are being in a new school & to not have learned exactly what most people have the year before, moving from a really small school to a huge one, etc...
How I can help make this better is probably talking more & getting more involved with the school.
The things I think I do well in are: math, reading, and english.
I could probably improve in history, though.
My goals for this semester are to make more friends, talk more, and to get more involved with class discussions. Also, to read more outside of school.
